When someone in Yerevan types "dentist near me", "car wash Arabkir" or "кафе в центре Еревана", Google shows a map with three businesses and then the regular results. Getting into that map block is local SEO. It is less about clever tricks and more about being consistent, complete and real.
Pillar 1: Google Business Profile
This is the profile that appears on Google Maps. Fill in everything:
- Exact business category and secondary categories.
- Address with a pin that matches your real entrance.
- Working hours, including holidays.
- Phone and website link.
- Real photos of the entrance, inside, team and work.
- Services or products with short descriptions.
An incomplete profile is the most common reason a good business is invisible.
Pillar 2: the same details everywhere
Your business name, address and hours should be written the same way on your website, Google profile, Instagram, Yandex Maps and directories. Yerevan addresses are often written in different spellings and languages. Pick one format per language and stick to it.
| Where | Name | Address | Hours |
|---|---|---|---|
| Website | Same | Same, in each language | Same |
| Google Business Profile | Same | Same | Same |
| Instagram bio | Same | Short version | Same |
| Yandex Maps | Same | Same | Same |
Pillar 3: reviews
Reviews influence both ranking and the customer's decision. Ask for them right after a good experience, when the customer is happy, and send a direct link. Reply to every review, including negative ones, calmly and briefly. Do not buy reviews. Fake reviews get removed and can hurt the profile.
Pillar 4: a website that supports the profile
Google trusts a business more when the profile links to a website with clear information. What helps:
- A page per service, not one page listing everything.
- Your district and landmarks mentioned naturally: "five minutes from Barekamutyun metro".
- Structured data for your business type, address and hours, so search engines read them reliably.
- Pages in Armenian, Russian and English, each with its own address, because people search in their own language.
- Fast mobile loading, since local searches are mostly on phones.
AI search is local too
People increasingly ask ChatGPT or Google's AI answers for recommendations. These tools rely on the same signals: a consistent profile, a clear website with facts like prices and hours, and reviews. A site with a short, factual summary at the top of each page is easier for AI to quote.
Address spelling in three languages
Yerevan streets have Armenian names, Russian transliterations and English transliterations, and people use all of them. Komitas, Komitasa, Կոմիտասի. On your website, write the address in each language version the way locals write it, and add a landmark: a metro station, a well-known shop, a square. Landmarks help both customers and search engines connect your business to a place.
A one-week local SEO plan
| Day | Task |
|---|---|
| 1 | Claim and fully fill in Google Business Profile |
| 2 | Upload 10 to 15 real photos, set holiday hours |
| 3 | Align name, address and hours on site, Instagram, maps |
| 4 | Add service pages with district and landmarks |
| 5 | Add structured data and submit the sitemap |
| 6 | Send review links to recent happy customers |
| 7 | Reply to all existing reviews |
After that, the routine is simple: keep photos fresh, answer reviews, update hours, add a page when you add a service.
Mistakes that keep businesses invisible
- Wrong pin on the map. Customers drive to the wrong building and leave angry reviews.
- Several duplicate profiles created by former employees or agencies.
- Keyword stuffing in the business name, like "Best Dentist Yerevan Cheap". It can get the profile suspended.
- Only Russian or only Armenian. You lose everyone searching in the other languages.
- No website link, or a link to an Instagram profile that does not show prices or hours.
