Yerevan has become a busy place for small and medium businesses. Cafes, clinics, tour operators, IT companies and relocated founders all need a website that works in several languages and brings real enquiries. The choice of studios is wide, and from the outside they all look similar. This guide explains what to check so that you pay for a result, not for a beautiful presentation.
What a website should do for your business
Before you look at portfolios, write down one sentence: what should a visitor do on your website? Book a table, request a quote, buy a product, send a message. A studio that asks this question first is already a good sign. A studio that starts with colours and fonts is thinking about itself, not about you.
For most businesses in Yerevan the goal is simple: get a request with a name and a phone number, and get it fast. That is why at Kinto every website sends requests straight to Telegram, where the owner already spends the day. You can read how this works in our article about website leads in Telegram.

Five questions to ask any studio
- Will the price be fixed in the contract? A fair studio gives you a quote after a short call and does not change it without your written agreement.
- Will I see a mockup before you write code? Changes on a mockup are cheap. Changes after development are slow and expensive.
- Whose name will the domain and accounts be in? The answer must be: yours.
- How do requests reach me? Email that you check in the evening loses customers. A message in Telegram or WhatsApp reaches you in seconds.
- What happens after launch? Ask how much hosting and support cost per month and whether they are optional.
Typical prices in Yerevan
Prices vary a lot, because "a website" can mean a one-page template or a custom platform. Here is how Kinto prices its work, so you have a reference point.
| What you get | Starting price | Starting timeline |
|---|---|---|
| Landing page | $700 | 6 days |
| Multi-page website | $1,800 | 12 days |
| Online store | $4,000 | 22 days |
| Telegram lead bot | $500 | 4 days |
| AI assistant 24/7 | $1,200 | 6 days |
| Several languages | $600 | 4 days |
Several parts can be built in parallel, so the total timeline is shorter than the sum. The exact price for your project is fixed in the contract before we start. See the full pricing page for every option.

Red flags
- No contract or a vague one. If the scope is not written down, every change becomes a new bill.
- Payment of 100% upfront for a large project. Staged payments protect both sides.
- The studio registers the domain in its own name. This makes you dependent on them forever.
- No mobile check. Most visitors in Armenia open websites on a phone. Ask how the studio tests mobile layouts.
- "We will do SEO later." Basic search setup (titles, descriptions, sitemap, fast loading) should be part of the build.
Languages: Russian, English, Armenian
A website in Yerevan often needs at least two languages. Tourists and expats search in English, many locals and visitors from CIS countries search in Russian, and Armenian matters for local search and trust. Good multilingual sites use separate addresses for each language, so Google can show the right version to the right person. Read more in our guide to multilingual websites in Armenia.
How the work usually goes
- Call. About 30 minutes on Telegram or video. You explain the business, the studio asks questions and names the price.
- Mockup. You see the structure and the first screen. Revisions happen here.
- Build. Layout, texts, lead bot, payments, CRM. You get a working link early and see progress.
- Launch. Domain, SSL certificate, search setup, analytics, checks on real phones.
- After launch. Optional support: edits, new sections, monitoring.
Studio, freelancer or website builder
A website builder is fine for a test idea with no budget. A freelancer is fine for a simple page if you can manage the project yourself. A studio makes sense when you want one team to handle design, texts, development, a bot and support, and when you want a contract with clear terms. Our article website builder, freelancer or studio compares them in detail.
How to read a portfolio
A portfolio shows taste, but it does not show results by itself. When you look at a studio's work, open the live websites, not only the screenshots. Check them on your phone. Do they load fast on mobile internet? Is it clear what the business does in the first screen? Is there an obvious way to contact the company? Try to send a request through the form and see how it feels.
Then ask the studio three questions about one project:
- What was the task, and what did the client want visitors to do?
- What did you change after the first mockup and why?
- What happens to a request after a visitor presses "Send"?
A studio that can answer these questions clearly understands business, not only design.
What you should prepare before the first call
You do not need a technical brief. Five short answers save a lot of time:
- What your business does, in one or two sentences.
- Who your clients are and which languages they speak.
- What a visitor should do on the website.
- Two or three websites you like, and what exactly you like in them.
- Your budget range and the date when you need the website.
If you have a logo, photos, price lists or texts, send them too. If you do not, a good studio will help you write the texts and choose photos. Our website brief template lists everything in one page.
After the launch: what to expect
The first weeks after launch are when small problems appear: a typo in prices, a phone number that should be different, a photo that looks too dark on some phones. A responsible studio fixes such things without long discussions. Ask in advance how long the "after launch" period lasts and what is included. At Kinto, support is optional and can be added for six months for $900. Hosting and support are paid monthly only if you choose them.
