Between 8:30 and 9:30 a busy coffee shop in Yerevan loses customers who look at the queue and keep walking. A Telegram bot turns some of them into pre-orders: they order on the way and pick up a ready cup.
What a coffee shop bot does
- Pre-orders for pickup: drink, size, milk, extra shot, pickup time.
- Menu and prices in a tap, including seasonal specials.
- Bean orders: choose a roast and a grind, pick up later.
- Hours and location for new customers.
- Occasional news: a new single origin, a cupping evening.
All orders go to the shop's Telegram, where the barista sees the details in one message.
Why Telegram rather than an app
Building a branded mobile app is expensive and most customers will not install it. Telegram is already on their phones. Opening your bot is one tap from Instagram, a QR code on the counter or a link on your website.

Designing the flow
Speed is everything. A good coffee bot asks only what a barista needs:
- Drink (buttons).
- Size and milk (buttons).
- Pickup time (in 10, 15, 20 minutes).
- Name, taken from Telegram automatically.
That is four taps. Anything longer and people go back to standing in line.
Payment: now or at pickup
Pay-at-pickup is simplest and works well for regulars. If no-shows become a problem, add online payment for $600. In Armenia card payments through local payment providers are common; the exact options depend on your bank and are agreed before work starts.
Bot plus website
The bot serves people who already know you. New customers still find coffee shops through search and maps, so a coffee shop website or at least a solid Google Maps profile matters. The site's "Order ahead" button can open the bot directly.
Languages
Customers in Yerevan write in Armenian, Russian and English. The bot can answer in the language of the customer's Telegram, so a tourist and a local both get a clear menu.
