Tutoring in Yerevan mostly runs on recommendations: a parent tells another parent, a student tells a classmate. That works until it does not, for example when you move to online lessons, raise prices, or want students for a subject you just started teaching. A private tutor website is a quiet way to be found and to look as professional as you are.
For most tutors, one good page is enough. Here is what to put on it.
Is a landing page enough?
Usually yes. A tutor sells one person's time and skill, not a catalog. A single page answers everything a parent or student needs. Our article on landing page or multi-page website explains the general rule; for tutors it almost always points to one page.
You may need more than one page if you teach several very different subjects (for example, piano and math), run group classes, or plan to write articles that bring search traffic.
What the page should say, in order
- Who you teach and what. "Math for grades 5 to 11 and exam preparation, online and in Yerevan." One line, very specific.
- Your photo. A real, friendly photo. Parents want to see who will sit with their child.
- Experience in facts. Education, years of teaching, schools or universities you worked with, languages you teach in.
- How lessons go. Length, format (at your place, at the student's, online), homework, how you report progress to parents.
- Prices. Per lesson, per package of 8 lessons, for exam intensives.
- Schedule. Days and time windows you have free, updated each term.
- First lesson. Trial lesson conditions and a booking button.
- FAQ. Five or six real questions you are asked.
- Contacts. Telegram and WhatsApp, the district if you teach in person.
Price block example
| Format | Duration | How to show |
|---|---|---|
| Trial lesson | 30 to 45 min | Free or discounted |
| Single lesson | 60 min | Fixed price in AMD |
| Package | 8 lessons | Price with small saving |
| Exam intensive | 4 to 8 weeks | Program and total price |
| Online for students abroad | 60 min | Price in USD or EUR if needed |
Clear prices filter out people who were never going to pay your rate, and that saves you hours of messaging.
Online lessons beyond Yerevan
Many tutors now teach students in Gyumri, Vanadzor or abroad. Diaspora families look for Armenian language and history tutors; relocant families look for Russian-language math or English teachers who understand both school systems. If you teach online:
- Say which platform you use (Zoom, Google Meet, Telegram calls).
- Mention time zones: "I teach from 9:00 to 21:00 Yerevan time."
- Offer payment options that work from abroad.
- Add an English or Russian version of the page if your audience needs it.
Booking and reminders
The easiest setup: a "Book a trial lesson in Telegram" button. The student or parent writes, you agree on a time. If you have many students, a small bot shows free slots and sends reminders, similar to a Telegram booking bot for studios. It also helps with cancellations: a student who cannot come presses a button, and you get the slot back.
Instagram is not enough
Many tutors run an Instagram account with useful posts. Keep it, but a feed is a poor place to find a price or a schedule. A page with all the facts, linked from your bio, converts followers into students. We compare both in Instagram or a website.
Mistakes tutors make on their pages
- Listing every subject you could teach. "Math, physics, chemistry, English, Armenian" reads like nobody's specialist. Lead with the one or two subjects you are best at.
- No word about results you can honestly describe. You do not need invented percentages. Describe what a typical course looks like: "In 3 months we cover the grade 9 program and solve past exam papers every week."
- Only a phone number. Students and many parents prefer writing. A Telegram button gets more first messages than a number.
- An outdated schedule. If your free windows changed in September and the page still shows June, people book times you cannot offer.
- Hidden location. If you teach in person, name the district and the nearest metro or landmark.
