Telegram Ads in Armenia can bring leads at a reasonable cost, or burn the budget on clicks that go nowhere. The difference is rarely the ad text. It is the choice of channels, the offer and what happens after the click. This guide explains how the format works and when it makes sense for a small business.
How Telegram Ads work
Telegram Ads are official sponsored messages. They appear at the bottom of posts in public channels with a large audience. Each ad is a short text, up to 160 characters, with a button. The button can open:
- a Telegram channel,
- a bot,
- an external website.
You can target by channel topics, by language, or by a list of specific channels. Ads are bought through Telegram's own ad platform, and the rules and minimum budgets are set by Telegram, so check the current terms before planning.
Keep in mind: Telegram Ads do not show in private chats or small channels, and you cannot target by personal data like age or interests from a profile. You are effectively buying attention from readers of certain channels.

When they pay off
Telegram Ads tend to work for a business in Armenia when:
- Your audience reads Telegram channels. Russian-speaking residents, relocated specialists and many young Armenians follow local news, rental, job and city channels.
- There are channels that match your topic. Yerevan city channels, real estate, food, events, IT, kids and family.
- The offer is concrete. "Trial class for 2,000 AMD" works better than "Best fitness club in Yerevan".
- The next step is short. One tap to start a bot, one form with two fields.
- You can measure leads. Every request carries a source, so you see what the ads bring.
They usually disappoint when the product needs a long explanation, the audience barely uses Telegram, or the click leads to a channel that just shows more posts.
Bot or landing page: where to send the click
| Destination | Good for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Telegram bot | Bookings, quick questions, simple orders; the user never leaves Telegram | Keep it to 2–3 questions with buttons |
| Landing page | Offers that need photos, prices, details | Must load fast on a phone |
| Your channel | Building an audience over time | Hard to measure, few direct leads |
| General homepage | Rarely a good idea | Visitors get lost among sections |
For most service businesses a bot is the shortest path: the person taps the button, the bot asks what they need and asks to share a phone number with one tap. The request goes straight to your managers. We cover the logic in why a Telegram bot for business. If the offer needs persuasion, a landing page built for ads works better; see landing page for ads.

What to prepare before launching
- One offer per ad. Separate ads for separate services.
- A matching destination. The landing page or bot should repeat the promise of the ad in its first line.
- UTM tags on every link. Use a consistent pattern, for example utm_source=telegram_ads and utm_campaign named after the offer.
- Lead alerts. Requests go to Telegram right away, so someone calls back while the person still remembers you.
- A place to count leads. A CRM or at least a shared sheet with a source column.
- Languages. If you target Russian-language channels, the destination must be in Russian too. Armenian and English versions are useful for other audiences.
Measuring results honestly
Clicks are not results. Track three numbers for each campaign: money spent, requests received, and requests that became paying clients. Telegram's own statistics show views and clicks. Your CRM or sheet shows the rest, as long as the source of each lead is recorded. Compare campaigns by cost per real request, not by click price.
A short test, a couple of weeks with a small budget and two or three ad variants, tells you more than any forecast. If a campaign brings no requests at all, check the destination first: a slow page or a confusing bot is the most common reason.
