"Will I be able to change things myself?" is one of the first questions business owners ask. The answer should be yes for the things you change often, and no for the things that can break the site. A well-built admin panel draws that line clearly.
What you should be able to edit
| Content | How often it changes | Edit yourself? |
|---|---|---|
| Prices | Monthly or seasonally | Yes |
| Products, stock, photos | Weekly or daily | Yes |
| Working hours, phone, address | Rarely, but urgently | Yes |
| Menu or service list | Often | Yes |
| Blog articles, news | Weekly | Yes |
| Team members | Sometimes | Yes |
| FAQ answers | Sometimes | Yes |
| Page layout and design | Rarely | Better with the studio |
| Forms, payments, CRM | Rarely | Studio |
Why not let you edit everything
Some website builders let you drag every block anywhere. It sounds like freedom, but after a few months many such sites look messy: different fonts, broken mobile layouts, buttons nobody can find. A focused panel protects your design and conversion while still giving you control over content.
Multilingual editing
In Yerevan many sites run in Armenian, Russian and English. The panel should show the three versions of a text side by side, so you do not forget to update the price in one language. A missing translation is easy to miss when each language is in a separate menu.
Who logs in
- Owner: everything, including settings and user accounts.
- Manager: prices, products, working hours.
- Content person: articles and photos.
Separate logins also mean that if an employee leaves, you remove their access without changing everyone's password.
Photos without the headache
The panel should resize and compress images automatically. Many slow sites are slow because someone uploaded a 10 MB photo straight from a camera. You should not have to think about file sizes.
Do you need a panel at all?
If your site is a one-page landing with a fixed offer, you might change it twice a year. In that case it is cheaper to ask the studio for edits or include them in support ($900 for six months at Kinto). If you run a store, a menu, a real estate catalog or a blog, a panel pays for itself quickly.
Our work for restorefactory.am, a furniture dry-cleaning service in Yerevan, includes a simple admin where the owners update prices for the cost calculator themselves.
Admin panel vs website builders
Website builders like Tilda or Wix are essentially one big admin panel. That is convenient at the start, but the trade-offs show later: you cannot easily move the site elsewhere, monthly fees grow with features, and fast loading on mobile is harder to achieve. A custom site with a focused admin panel gives you the editing you need without locking you into one platform.
| Website builder | Custom site with admin panel | |
|---|---|---|
| Editing | Everything, including layout | Content you actually change |
| Risk of breaking design | High | Low |
| Moving to another host | Difficult | Possible, files are yours |
| Monthly fees | Platform subscription | Hosting only |
| Speed on phones | Varies | Built to be light |
A short checklist before you approve a panel
- Can you change prices in all languages from one screen?
- Do images get compressed automatically?
- Is there a preview before publishing?
- Can you undo a change or restore a previous version?
- Does each employee have their own login?
- Does it work on a phone, for quick fixes on the go?
If the answer to most of these is yes, the panel will save you time instead of creating it.
Edits that should go through the studio
Some changes look small but affect the whole site: a new menu item, a new language, a new form field that goes to Telegram or CRM, a change to the checkout. Ask for these rather than improvising. In support, they are usually quick for us and safe for you.
What happens after launch
You own the site, hosting and domain. The panel stays with you if you stop working with us. We show you how to use it in a short session after launch and stay available for questions.
Want to discuss what you would edit on your site? Write to @kinto_am on Telegram or leave a request through the form, and we will reply within 15 minutes, 10:00 to 20:00 Yerevan time.
