The first screen is what a visitor sees before scrolling. On a phone it is a small area, and the decision to stay or leave is quick. Here are the seven mistakes we see most often on small business sites, and how to fix them.
1. A pretty but unclear headline
"We create the future" explains nothing. Say what you do, for whom and why it matters, for example "Sofa cleaning at home in Yerevan in 3 hours".
2. No price or timeline
Even a range like "from $700" or "launch in 6 days" helps people decide whether the offer fits them.
3. Too many buttons
Five equal buttons mean nobody clicks any. Use one main button and one secondary, like "Send request" and "Message us on Telegram".
4. Slow loading on a phone
Heavy background video and huge photos on mobile data mean a blank screen. Compressed modern images, fixed sizes and light fonts fix it.
5. No trust
Live work, real photos, an address and clear terms. Reviews help only when they are real.
6. A slider instead of one message
Few people watch a carousel of five banners. One clear message beats five rotating ones.
7. The form is hidden at the bottom
A button on the first screen and a sticky button on phones keep the request one tap away.
First screen checklist
- The headline says what, for whom and why
- There is a price or timeline
- One main button
- A trust signal
- Fast loading on a phone
- A request button always at hand on mobile
